Steps to gaining your LGV licence
Passing your Category C , C1 or C1 + E test with Tilston Training Ltd. We like to keep things very simple by following these steps below.
- Medical. We can normally arrange these for you within 10 days. This can be carried out at our own site or at the nearest location to where you live
- Send off your licence along with the completed D2/D4 medical forms signed off by the doctor to the DVLA. Once it is returned to you with Category C or C1 as provisional we can get started with the practical training.
- Theory tests. You will need to pass the multiple-choice questions, the hazard perception and if you are going to earn a living from driving the lorry then you will also need to pass the CPC case studies. We can help you with this by supplying training material.
- Practical session with Mod 3a off road manoeuvre test conducted by our own assessor. The length of this course will depend on experience which will be discussed with you on booking and then your actual DVSA 60 minute on road test on that same day
- CPC Mod 4. If you are going to earn a living from driving the lorry then you have to sit the CPC Mod 4 practical test. We have our own assessors on site to conduct this test too
